About David Dawson
David Dawson has had music at the center of his life since the age of 16, when he began writing and producing original compositions. What started with friends and small personal projects gradually grew into a professional career built on consistency, dedication, and craft.
In 1989, he enrolled at the Art Institute of Dallas to study engineering. Two years later, he earned his first major industry opportunity as an intern at Planet Dallas Studio, where he gained hands-on experience in professional recording and production. That experience solidified his decision to pursue music full-time.
David produces and writes across all genres, including commercial music, instrumentals, and songwriting for artists. Over the course of his career, he has worked with artists such as Yarbrough & Peoples, RaKim, and Heavy D, along with many others.
His focus today is on songwriting and composition rather than performing as an artist. His goal is to continue creating music that positively impacts listeners while building a reputation as a world-class songwriter and composer.
